New Website www.tomtaylormade.com And Big Things This Weekend

Well, it's all about to happen. My new Star Wars series for Dark Horse comics is being officially announced this weekend in New York.
To prepare, I now have a new website (still a bit basic) over at http://www.tomtaylormade.com
I will be double posting here and there until the traffic shifts to there.
Stay tuned in the upcoming days for interviews, images and general news about the series I've been working on for months.

Scary stuff.

Tom Taylor - Appearing At Supanova Melbourne and Brisbane

I've just received confirmation that I will be a special guest at the Melbourne and Brisbane Supanova pop culture expos in March and April.

With names like Jhonen Vasquez and Todd McFarlane attached, these should be great events.

According to the Supanova website, I will be doing free signings on the Saturday and Sunday... I'm not sure what I'm signing yet.

Flinch - Now Available Through Amazon

Tom Taylor, Colin Wilson, Shaun Tan, Tom Bonin, James Barclay and more.

From Gestalt Publishing, who are also publishing my upcoming graphic novel 'Brief Cases', comes 'Flinch'; an anthology that brings together some brilliant creators, all with their own interpretations of Flinch.

'Flinch' prints two of my stories, which range from the depths of the ocean (96000m - illustrated by Tom Bonin) to the farthest reaches of space (White Dove III - illustrated by Colin Wilson).

It also features a stunning cover by the incredible Shaun Tan.

Flinch is now available for pre-order through Amazon. Use this link so my publisher gets some much deserved cash!

Brief Cases - A New Graphic Novel by Tom Taylor

In my last post I spoke about 'Drip' possibly being published later this year. Then, right on cue, Gestalt Publishing started http://www.briefcasesbook.com/ which is the production diary for my upcoming graphic novel Brief Cases which Drip will hopefully be a part of.

Great to see this progressing so quickly.

Something else I've worked on should be available on Amazon any day now too.

Drip... Drip...

My short play 'Drip' has opened at Newtown Theatre in Sydney tonight as part of Short and Sweet. It runs until Saturday so, if you're in the area, you should go see it... I would, and I've seen it before.

Also on the 'Drip' front, the comic book adaptation is looking quite likely to be published along with a lot my other writing later this year. I won't say more until I can but here is a preview page illustrated by the fantastic Tom Bonin - who is currently in a small cottage in England.

'Falling Praying' Nominated For Awards And The ABC Interview.

Melbourne Short and Sweet ended on Saturday night at the Arts Centre and 'Falling Praying' did very well. The show picked up nominations for 'Best Comedy Script' and 'Best Production' to add to the 'Judge's Choice' and 'People's Choice' awards it won earlier this year at Crash Test Drama.

Falling Praying was at it's best on the final night and the audience were in hysterics.

A huge thank you and well done to our incredible director Jacqui Shulz, who took this little play well past the script and created something quite amazing.

Thanks also to our brilliant actors; Josh Futcher, who won the 'Best Male Actor' award and immediately called his mum, and Sonya Kerr, who also fared well with the judges.

Josh, Sonya and I had a bit too much fun being interviewed on ABC radio last week and the entire interview, including an excerpt from the play, can be heard here. My voice isn't normally this high... I think I was trying to appear non-threatening. The interviewer was very interested in my past as a professional juggler and fire eater... I forget people find that interesting.
